April Showers: Bring May Flowers...

Just so you know, I have done a terrible job this week with diet and exercise, thanks to Mother Nature. Well, I can’t blame her for my diet, but she has completely destroyed my workout plan. You all know, that I run around the track several times a week as apart of my exercise regimen. Due to our current climate and weather conditions, I have been unable to enjoy the outdoors because every 5 minutes there is a rain storm. Ugh!  However, I did loose 1-2 inches around the hip and bootie area, but I don’t want to loose my bootie! #sadface…….lol…

Anyway, while this week was gloomy, there was some sunshine at the end of the storm. And its called Happy Hour! Whoop Whoop! My favorite! I really want to kiss the person who invented Happy Hour… $5.00 cocktails and appetizers!!! Say whaaaaaaaat!!?? Lol.

Anywho, some of the girls/guys and I went to happy hour at Langerman’s. Yesss, again!!! I told you that I was going back for more shrimp and grits. As usual, we had a blast. Having good conversation with friends is always a great ending to a long work week. We chatted about friendships, reality television, summer trips and the location of our next happy hour! Lol

Blocking Tamia from jumping in our Pic. lol

Tamia bighead in the background! smh! Always tryna jump in a pic. Hahaha

Take 2!

Tiff and Benny - & Tamia?!!  Again!!!! smh!

I'm not even going to say a word! lol

Nakita & My Chris

And this is so random! But, I have placed myself on a strict "No shopping" budget. And, while I have completed my task with flying colors for the past 2-3 months. Retail therapy has reared its ugly little head and pulled me back in. I did do a little shopping last week, nothing major! Just enough to get me over for at least another month. Shopping for me is like crack to a drug addicted. I just gotta have it. There lies irony in my addiction. For the most part, I don't wear my garments immediately. It sometimes takes me months to wear an item. And they just sit in my closet with the price tags. Smh! Guilty! Lock me up and throw away the keys. lol

Now, I finally did some spring cleaning. Out with winter, In with Spring! I cleaned out the moth balls from my spring garments that were packaged and boxed away in my hallway closet. lol. It took me 2 hours to organize my closet. I usually color coordinate everything, but I wasn't in the mood.

Nothing major, but I created more space - So, I finally have some available hangers!

I'm OCD when it comes to organization, especially my closet! No wire hangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hate wire hangers. "They are like so 2001"....(In my Valley Girl voice).

I charge $30.00 per hour for my services. lol

Movies In Review

Over the weekend, I was finally able to view "Black Swan." Now, my expectations of this film were extremely high; with all the Oscar buzz and great reviews. I just knew I was in for a treat! Unfortunately, it wasn't what I anticipated. Prior, to me viewing the movie; I updated my status on FaceBook stating that I was watching Black Swan and I received more "Hated It" than "Loved It"  comments. But, I had not cast my vote yet, so the ballot was still out. I wanted to keep an open mind despite my FB friends reactions to the film. The basis of  "Swan Lake" is that Odette, a princess who has been sentenced to life as a swan by day, commits suicide after discovering that her lover has fell in love with different, the black swan.

Scandalous sex  scene with Mila Kunis - This is the G-Rated Pic! lol

While, the movie threw a few curves balls, I did not hate it. But, then again, I didn't love it either. It was interesting to see the delicate white swan unravel as she slowly looses her mind to become more and more like the Black Swan, Oldie. This film reveals the dark side of fame, as Nina Sayers (played by Natalie Portman)  dances to the top at the price of her sanity. The film introduces the presence of eating disorders, sexual abuse by male directors and many other story lines. Nina's weakness almost disables her from getting the role due to her inability to transform into Odette. While you have to interpret the messages behind the film, this psychological thriller does keep you on the edge of your seat. Check it out for yourself and please share your reviews and thoughts!

Oh, and I cant wait  to see "Jumping The Broom" with the girls. #Girlsnightout# I love to support "positive" African American films. So to the theater we will go...... to show our support!

All-Star Cast!!

Don't hate - Megan Fox looks Good! Go Girl!!
Angela Bassett is looking younger and younger! Beautiful!
Time doesn't allow me to be a "Let's go the movies kind of Gal." However, during my down time. I love to catch a great flick. So, one rainy Saturday, I watched two amazing films. "Its Complicated" and "Just Wright." Two must see movies!

Sipping Martini's for a Good Cause

Everyone knows my "lil brother" Taurean. Well, biologically he's not my brother. He's my cousin. But, he has always felt like the little brother, I never had or wanted. lol... (just kidding). Taurean has always been a constant fixture in my life. And plays a very important role with my patience. lol. He has Down Syndrome; a genetic condition in which a person has 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46. The extra chromosome causes problems with the way the body and brain develops. Children with Down Syndrome have a widely recognized appearance. They may also have delayed mental and social development.

God placed Taurean in my life for so many reasons. While, Taurean gives me a hard way to go at times, he is an amazing kid! He is very intelligent and a lil comedian. Oh, and did I mention he's a Cassanova with the ladies! Yup! He loves women, especially those with big booties.....smh...I was his date to one of  his proms and he ditched me for a girl with a bigger butt......lol.....But, I thank God for sending him my way! Couldn't imagine my life without him.

So, Nakita and I were invited to a fundraiser for "BrightSide" a mentoring program at Kennedy Krieger Institute that links teens with Down Syndrome to young adult mentors with Down Syndrome in an effort to promote independence.

The event was held at Langermann's Restaurant (the food is great, by the way). There was a $6.00 coverage charge, that entered you into a raffle to win some great prizes. But, of course, I didn't win anything. #sadface. They also had a silent auction for some items that were donated by the Ravens and Orioles. Taurean signed his name to win the Ravens Gift basket. He's a huge Ray Lewis fan!! But, when we saw that he was out-bidded by $100.00, we kept it moving...lol....

Taurean & his friend Dakota! He loves the ladies...lol

$5 Buffalo wings!!! Tasty!
Me! Always camera ready!
My 3rd Peach Martini
My grandma..I had to sneak this Pic. She hates Pics!! smh! But I still love her!
Shrimp & Grits! The best thing I ever tasted - Going back next week for more! lol
Aunt Debbie - She's official at Kennedy Krieger - Top lady in charge!

Oh, and I cant forget to mention that Taurean is Lil Wayne's biggest fan!!! He eats, breathe and sleeps for Lil Wayne. His whole world revolves around Mr. Carter. He listens to all his music, has posters and magazines all in the name of one of the best rappers alive. Despite, Taurean's obsession with Wayne, you can't fault him for having a good ear for good music!

One day, Taurean's mom became so annoyed with him asking about his idol, she told him, Lil Wayne was sick. lol. Taurean said "Awe, man...I gotta get Lil Wayne a card." lol....Too cute! He wanted to send Lil Wayne a get well card. If anyone has any connections to the music industry and would like to make a very special child dreams come true to meet his idol, hit me up! lol. (But, I'm serious).

Welcome to The 90's

The 90's were the golden years for television. One of the best decades ever for me. Some of the best TV shows were produced during this era. I decided to do a post dedicated to the 90's and good television! So, I was watching "Martin" one late night after work, as I always do. And, I remembered how entertaining and creative television once was. Today, all you see on T.V are reality shows. Don't get me wrong, I love my reality trash. However, they don't make them like they use to. Soooooo, get on board and take a trip with me down memory lane..............to the 90's.

Check out my Top 10 TV shows of the 90's.....

Melrose Place - This drama followed a group of young adults, all living in "Melrose Place" apartment complex. I'm not for certain if alot of people watched this show. But, I was addicted. I loved the drama and the scandal.

Belvery Hills 90210 - Ok.....so who didn't want to attend school with the rich kids at West Beverly Hills High! I know I did!! I loved this show. Although, I could not relate to the shows plot, it was entertaining to say the least. This was our generation's "Young and the Restless." Our soap opera! Dylan and Kelly were my fav characters.

Save By The Bell - Now, who did not love this circle of friends. Zach, Kelly, Screech, A.C Slater, Jessi and my fav Lisa. I enjoyed following this crew at Bayside High School.

She was Fab!

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - OMG! I almost forgot about this show! I remember running home from Sinclair Lane Elementary school to watch this show. We didn't have a DVR back then. lol.. The theme song was so catchy. The storylines and the characters acting was a little cheesy! lol...And, I sooooooooo wanted to be the PINK Ranger.

Family Matters - This show was apart of the TGIF line-up. Does anyone remember the line-up? Boy Meets World, Step by Step and Perfect Strangers?? Well, Steve Urkel, the annoying nerd that lived next door, was the unofficial main character of the show. Who later became the most recognizable characters of all time! (Did I do that??)

And look at Lil Richie! He grew up to be handsome man! (Well, kind of Handsome) lol

The Cosby Show - A mother who is a lawyer and a father that's a doctor?? This show depicted family values and morals. Some of my fav episodes: When Cliff discovered that Theo had pierced his ears. lol..And, we cant forget when Vanessa got drunk one night and had a hang-over. I loved their way of discipline and the creative ways they educated their children about life's mistakes and lessons.

Who would have to known that Lil Rudy would grow up to be such a pretty young lady!

Random - I always wanted Phylicia Rashad to be my mom! : )

The Arsenio Hall Show - Suits with shoulder pads, the dogpound and "Things that make you go Hmmm" are 3 reasons why I loved this show. The raw dialogue made for a several years of syndication. Targeting an audience that was ignored by other late-night shows. #classic

In Living Color - This was one of the most memorable sketch comedy shows of all time. Such skits as Homie the clown; Men on film (Hated it) and Fire Marshall Bill had us rolling on the floor with laughter! Oh, and we cannot forget the makings of such mega- stars as, Jamie Foxx, J-Lo, Jim Carey and Tommy Davidson.

Fresh Prince of Bel Air - Most of us are familiar with the theme song to The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. And we all know the lyrics by heart. Bringing us the Carlton dance, and a kid from Philly who moved in with his upper class uncle and his family.

Go Carlton! Go Carlton..Get Busy!! lol

Martin - Now, we all can watch Martin a million times a day and laugh as if its the 1st time. I've always loved Gina and Martin's relationship and the different characters Martin played on the show. Like, my girl Shanaynay or big pimpin' Gerome. This is a classic, and even after years off the air, its still one of the most watched TV shows.

Let Me Upgrade You

Hey Dolls!

So, I decided that maybe, just maybe...I need to upgrade my phone. Riel has been trying to persuade me to get an IPhone, now that she has given up her Blackberry to play "Words with Friends." Apparently, I'm the only person in the world not playing that game. (She's a Trader!!!) lol..But, I'm so loyal to my "Crackberry." And, I don't want to loose my BBM contacts. Anyone, who has a "Crackberry" knows how convenient the BBM applications are. Its almost like a Twitter! And speaking of...... I have a Twitter account! Yeah for me! I know Twitter has been around for years, but of course I'm just jumping on the band-wagon. However, I feel like an old lady because I'm still trying to learn some of the acronyms and twitter lingo. You can follow me @ Pinklippstik.......Duh! What else did you think my user name would be? lol.. (Ok, now, I'm rambling)

My point is......I need a new phone for my loyal followers, subscribers and fans of PinkLippStik Blog. My week gets so hectic with work, exercise and other miscellaneous errands, that I sometimes don't have enough time to publish my posts as often as I would like. While, I LOVE my Blackberry, a more "sophisticated" phone would be ideal for my Blog.

So, It's the Ipad or Iphone??? Decisions, Decisions??

Or................

Moving On.......................

I had the best crabs in the world over the weekend from "Blakes." OMG!! I was in heaven!! I have been fiening for crabs for over a month, and Blakes hit the spot.

Nakita - Smashing! lol

Yummy!!!

Me!!!

Oh, by the way..........I can't forget to let my dolls know that Victoria Secret has a limited edition Pink Baseball Collection for the "Baltimore Orioles." The collection offers style and comfort all wrapped in one. With crewneck and v-neck tees, zip hoodies and varsity pants, even panties! So grab yours while supplies last, it's only for a limited time. Now, I am not a baseball fan at all and to be quite honest, I think its kind of boring. There is absolutely no excitement in baseball. But, I am always cheering for the Orioles, even when they suck! And, my job is giving away Oriole tickets, so I might check out a game because the tickets are FREE... lol...Support our birds!! They are 4-0 right now. Great start to the season!
