Who Run The World????

My girl - Jill Scott graces the cover of Ebony and Essence Magazine's June Issue -  looking 50 pounds lighter and sexier than ever. W-O-R-K IT JILL!!! POW#

Jill releases her new CD "The Light of the Sun" on June 21st. Cant wait to hear this CD. She always gives such raw, mature, melodic tones and lyrics! On my grown woman ish while listening to Jill's voice.

Jill looks HOT!!!!

By the way, I am sooooo addicted to her previous CD -  "The Real Thing: Words and Sound - Vol. 3" It remains on repeat in my CD player!!!! And, I believe it was released in 2008-2009 (??)

Trust Mother!!! If you want a mature listen. This CD will blow you away. Especially tracks like "Crown Royal" and "Epiphany."  Make your way to Sound Garden to get this! : )

Moving on...............

Bringing to the stage....Mrs. Queen Bey!!! Thee one and only!!! The baddest bish in the game!!

                                                            BEYONCE!!!

Now, Let me make it clear. Beyonce is one of thee best entertainers in the WORLD! Yes, I said in thee WORLD!! Whether you love or hate her. You cant deny, that the girl is BAD!! I have never seen a performer give such energy and commitment on stage. Her performances look effortless -  Yet you can see the dedication and time she puts into every step. Her work ethic is sick!! I absolutely LOVE her!!! And SASHA FIERCE is back and hotter than ever!!

WORK IT! WORK IT! WORK GIRL!

Bey's new album "4" is set to be released June 27th *circles 6/27/2011 on calender*

Now, I will admit, the first time I listened to "Who Run The World. (Girls)." I thought Bey had lost her marbles. But, how could I be so foolish?? Anything she touches, will ultimately turn to Gold! She is an empire and a brand like no other. Now, the video completely sold me. I was going to post the Run The World official video. But, I thought she rocked the 2011 Billboard Awards! So check it out below.

I am a music connoisseur. It doesn't have to sound "nice" for me to enjoy a good album.  Beats don't make a good album. It's the lyrics that make is GREAT! I love to hear the lyrics in a song! They grab me! These are some of the artists that I am anticipating a new sound...

Amy Winehouse
Brandy
Tamia
Kelis
Corrine Bailey Rae
Vivian Green
#REALR&BMUSIC

So, I am totally digging Solange Knowles style! Beyonce obviously has the talent gene in the family. But Solange, has the most important chromosome! The FASHION chromosome. I was recently browsing through an article that Solange was featured in. And, she said that her style icons are her mom,  ChloĆ« Sevigny, '90s Erykah Badu and Diana Ross.

INSIDE SOLANGE KNOWLES CLOSET -

Her summer suit is adorable!

Alexander McQueen : Savage Beauty

Hey Dolls,

I want to apologize for the delay with publishing my next post. I try my best to keep my guys and dolls updated. However, I was a little under the weather. Damn allergies!!  It has been pure torture!! I literally came home from work, closed every window, pumped my A/C and jumped in the bed for the past 3 days! My allergies left me disabled for several days. : ( Benadryl is the only medication that works for me. It makes me drowsy. But, I would prefer drowsy over sneezing, soar throat and running nose any day! Other people suggested some other remedies. I'm open for suggestions, so send them my way!
Sincerely, severe allergy sufferer.  lol

Anyway, Mothers Day was fantabolous!!  We didn't do anything spectacular, but time with family is always priceless.  I should have woke up early enough to make it to church. I have to do better! I know Lord, its the devil!! He pushes me back in bed and places the covers over my face.

Unfortunately, I did not take any pics (smacking myself in the face). But, my lil cuzzin took some for me. Check out his view from "down there." lol

This is the "sticky finger bandit" lol

He took the camera from me to take a pic of me. lol

Sunday's Best

Easter weekend was fantastic!!! Especially, when you get to spend it with family! But, I was having a conversation with some of the Fam - and we realized that the Easter holiday isn't what it use to be. Not many parents dress their children in their Sunday's Best. Most kids just wear new sneakers and jeans for Easter Sunday. I remember growing up, my siblings and I always had our dresses handmade by my grandmother. Big fluffy extravagant dresses, set off with a nice pair of Mary Jane's and a cute little purse.

We had our hair slicked back with pony tails or big curls. This was the one day you had the opportunity to be a little princess. And we cant forget the Easter baskets!!! Aunt Ginny, made sure we had a lavish Easter basket every year with a black barbie. She didn't play about the black barbies! No white barbie dolls over here! lol

As, I made my travels through the city on Sunday, I tried to capture the site of childhood memories. White Mary Janes, stockings and socks with lace. Unfortunately, I came up ended handed : (

Nevertheless, its always nice to be amongst family.

My little Cousins, Love these Gals! : )

Aunt Lynn is the background! At least smile! Geesh! lol

On to the Next..........................

Everyone has raved about how great the food is at "Kona Grill." So, I had to try it for myself.  Ryan and my sister invited me out for Sushi and cocktails. Now, keep in mind. I'm not the biggest Sushi fan. I cant fathomed eating raw sushi - but cooked Sushi I enjoy! I ordered the Shrimp Tempura and the California Roll (in error) I meant to order the Volcano Rolls. Nevertheless, it was ok!!! My mouth was watering for some good sushi, and I wasn't all that impressed with the meal. Lets just say I had better sushi, elsewhere! I won't completely throw "Kona Grill" under the bus until I sample more selections from the menu. I will definitely give them another chance to redeem themselves. For their sake, it better be GOOD!

My sushi??  : ( Yet I still ate it.

Awe.........Ain't we Kute!!

Royal Wedding Fashion Report Card

Of course, I would complete a post about "The Royal Wedding." It has been all over Twitter, Facebook, television and the world. Whether you are fan or not - America was invaded by the British, figuratively! April 29th, 2011, marks the day Prince William of Wales wed Miss Catherine Middleton. Millions watched one of the most public courtships in history. Were you awake at 5am to take a glimpse at the Royal extravaganza???? I was!! However, it was by default. I just happen to be preparing myself for work. But, behind the tradition and hype, was one important factor! The fashion! POW!

As thousands lined the streets, celebrities and world leaders arrived at Westminster Abbey to witness the reveal of Catherine's wedding dress. All eyes were on the soon to be Duchess of Cambridge as she exited the vintage Rolls Royce. The dress was designed by Sarah Burton, who is the creative director of the late great Alexander McQueen. (She has an amazing collection, by the way). The ivory perfection had a lace print detail and sleeves, with an edgy plunging neckline. While others were in awe of this construction. I wasn't all that impressed to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I thought she looked amazing and the detail was immaculate. The dress was stunning and I loved loved the lace sleeves!! That was my fav part of the dress. I just expected more va va voom! I assumed it was going to be a  traditional gown with an edge. I was just expecting more Princess Diana!??

This is the dress Princess Diana wore for her wedding!!

The train was bananas!!!

Duchess of Cambridge aka Her Royal Highness! Go girl!!!

O yea, and the Prince was there too! lol. We 4got about him.

The Royal wedding showcased London's fashions roots and haute couture. The British proved that you do not have be risk-kay to be fashionable. I loved the respectable suits and dresses for the woman, and we cant forget about the hats. They were a must per the invitations.

The Best and The Worst....

Best Dressed -

Joss Stone : )

I would actually wear this! Simple, yet very fashionable!

#Classic

Best Dressed Couple! They looked amazing! And Victoria is preggers! The girl is bad in her
custom made 7" Christian Louboutin! Work it!! Work it!!! "snaps fingers"

Worst Dressed -

Not all of London's royalty made the best dressed list : (

I love this ensemble - Just not all 2gether..... Each piece would be Fab individually.
She OD'd on the color Blue!

The media ripped these gals a new one, for taking a risk with their ensembles.
I actually like it!!! I just think they could be more flattering to the figure.

She could have put more effort into her dress.
Did she forget this was the wedding of the century!?? Smh

Too Simple, but very age appropriate.

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
